Around Kitsap Help - Event Benefits/Features

The Around Kitsap Events calendar is provided as a community service. We rely on YOU to help find and submit events. When events are all located in one place makes it easier for all of us living in the Kitsap area to support local.

The events calendar is feature rich, we literally spent a year finding a calendar software program and are happy with the one we chose and think you will be too.

Benefits

• Save Time - It easy to find local Kitsap events, all in the same place, all with the same format.

• Text message reminders can be sent to your cell phone so you don't have to walk around with your computer in your pocket.
• Find out what's happening months in advance, great if you're going to have guests visiting our area.

• Do you want your events to be found?
There are over 7,000,000 websites, it takes a long time for people to research and find all the events in our area. When you add your events, people don't have to remember your 1 in 7 million website name at exactly the right time when you have an amazing event scheduled. You put a lot of effort into your event, make it easy for people to find it!

• There is a 5 times greater chance of someone showing up for your events if it's on their schedule. The Around Kitsap calendar makes it easy!
• Enter events early to gain the maximum exposure.
• If you need to schedule events, check the calendar first to coordinate dates and times.
• Show your support for community - we wouldn't be a community calendar without your activities - we urge you to take a moment to add them to the Around Kitsap calendar.

Some Great Features

• Subscribe to the main calendar and receive weekly updates.
• Opt to have any event added to your Yahoo, MS Outlook, Hotmail, etc. calendar - it is EASY!
• Opt to have e-mail reminders sent to you.
• Even have text message reminders sent to your cell phone (your phone number is kept private, not even the owner of Around Kitsap gets to see it).
• Opt to be notified if an event changes.
• Select how you want to 'view' any of the calendars. You can see it monthly style, per week, list, table, etc. There is a 'view' list at the bottom of each calendar screen - pick your view!
• Mix-in Calendars. On the left side of the main calendar, you can quickly select which calendars you want to view. The default is all calendars.
• When you click on an event description, a window opens that shows a map along with all the event information. Great if you want to print an event for on-the-go. Click on the map and select directions from the menu to create driving directions.

SHARING CALENDARS.

Create your own set of calendars - share it with Around Kitsap, and you'll only have one set of calendars to maintain. That's right, if you change a description, time, location on your calendar, it'll automatically show on the Around Kitsap calendar (and any other you 'share' your calendar with). Around Kitsap does not charge for sharing calendars, but you'll need to purchase a professional calendar from Trumba.com (see their website for current benefits and costs). They're a great company to work with, and almost local (Seattle).
