Around Kitsap Help Center - Security
We take your trust in us very seriously
We care about your privacy. Information provided to Around Kitsap will not be resold or redistributed. We do use 3rd party software, and are very selective about whom we conduct business with. We treat all your information with a high degree of security.
Emails from Around Kitsap
We will not ask you for your password via email or on the phone. If anyone asks you for your password, do not give it out and please contact us immediately.
Will your email address or phone number be shared? Will you land on a spam e-mail list?
We respect your privacy, we do not sell or share information.
When you have an event or product listing, or you bid or purchase an item some of the information becomes public.
Anything that you can see on the website without being logged in, is public for the world to see.
Always put your safety first.
SSL Security
The auction shopping area has SSL security. Basically, this means your information goes through an encryption process to be transferred over the internet. When information is being securely transferred, a small lock will appear on your screen, most commonly on the bottom right corner. Does that mean there is a 100% guarantee that your information is safe? No, but SSL is the best and most commonly used tool available. Always use common sense and if you have any doubt, do not conduct that transaction.
Payments
Payments for purchases made between sellers and buyers are transacted outside of the Around Kitsap Shopping Center, always know who you're doing business with and take all precautions to protect yourself. If in doubt, do not conduct that transaction.
Most credit cards also offer protection for your online purchases so be sure to check with your credit card company to confirm that you're being protected.
For those accepting payments using merchant accounts, most credit card companies let you opt for the vendor fraud protection plan, the plan is usually free.
When making payments directly to Around Kitsap for fees or purchases, you have the option of using Palpal, Visa, Master Card or American Express. All of these methods utilize SSL security. If, for any reason you are not comfortable processing information on the internet, you have the option of calling us directly to manually process the payment.
